Vision Care Opticians are an independent group of practices in the Omagh area which have been long established and respected. We trace our origins back to the 1940’s, over 80 years ago.

Our mission is to provide you with the most efficient and professional eye care service available.

Over the years we have invested heavily in the latest modern, up to date equipment. We currently use NIDEK digital retinal camera and OCT Scanner.

Our team of fully qualified Optometrists have over 100 years of experience between them, and are supported by a friendly and efficient team of staff who are always willing to be at your assistance.

At Vision Care, our extensive display of fashion frames will give you lots of choice. For example, our Silhouette rimless range allows us to design your spectacles “around you”, using the latest thin, high tensile lens material available. Bespoke lens size, shape and spectacle mount colours allow each piece to be tailored to your style and choice

Wide range of children’s spectacle frames are available. From Tots to Teens

As an independent Optician, Vision Care can offer you an extensive range of high quality lenses such as Hoya, Zeiss, Nikon and Seiko in various different forms.

Meet the Team

  • KEVIN GALLAGHER

    BSc (Hons) FC Optom. Graduated in 1978 from 'The City University' London with his degree in Optometry. Kevin completed his British College of Optometry professional qualifications in 1979 while working in Belfast and is registered with the General Optical Council. Kevin joined the Keating practice in 1980 which was originally founded by his uncle in the 1940’s. He then opened Vision Care in 1992.

  • PAUL HUGHES

    BSc (Hons) MC Optom. Graduated in 1987 from 'Aston University' Birmingham, with his degree in Optometry. In 1988 he completed his British College of Optometrists professional qualifications and is registered with the General Optical Council. He started working in Vision Care in 1988. He is qualified to provide the PEARS (NI) service.

  • CLARE GALLAGHER

    BSc (Hons) MC Optom. Graduated from 'The City University' London, in 1987 with her degree in Optometry. In 1988 she completed her British College of Optometrists professional qualification while working in Belfast and is registered with the General Optical Council. Clare worked as an optometrist in Australia before moving back to Omagh to start work in Vision Care in 1992. She is qualified to provide the PEARS (NI) service.

  • DECLAN GALLAGHER

    Bsc(Hons) MCOptom . Graduated from Ulster University Coleraine in 2017 with his degree in Optometry. In 2018 he completed his British College of Optometrists professional qualifications while working in Belfast and is registered with the General Optical Council . Declan has worked in various Optometry practices and now works between Belfast and Vision Care Omagh since 2022. He is qualified to provide the PEARS (NI) service.

  • GERARD MCCRORY

    Gerard trained in Optical  Dispensing in London in 1981 while gaining practical glazing  experience  in Keating and Gallagher Opticians . He transferred to our modern Lab in Vision Care Opticians  Bridge St when it first opened in 1992 and provides our first class glazing and repair service on site.
